The Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network - BGAN - is the essential ultra portable solution for the serious business traveller. You will never again miss that important email or business deadline while you are travelling. Simply plug in your laptop and point at the satellite. You will then have an active broadband connection of up to 494kbps both in and out.

BGAN comes in two flavours:

Regional BGAN - low cost version providing up to 144kbps in and out

Standard BGAN - High speed BGAN terminal providing up to 494kbps in and out

Both are highly portable terminals - about the size of a laptop - and can be used anywhere under the coverage region - currently 90% of the Earth's landmass and to become total global coverage (except the poles) in 2007.

Simple to set up, you pay a low monthly subscription and then for each MByte you use. BGAN supports data and voice (VoIP) applications and supports VPNs.

BGAN serves all your Internet access needs while travelling avoiding the need to search for Internet cafés or pay high mobile phone roaming charges. Furthermore as a satellite based system you do not need to worry if there are no communication facilities where you are travelling.
