Prime Satellite Broadband supplies fixed satellite interactive terminal services via its partner Avanti Communications. based out of a UK located hub. Thus you will be able to access all UK shopping sites and have access to any UK distribution rights media content such as iPlayer. All satellite services will be up to 8Mbps down and 2Mbps up. You just select the data volume that you need each month.
Our services are suitable for businesses and residential subscribers. The services offered are based on low to high data volume users. Our RESIDENTIAL services are suitable for light to medium users looking to access the internet for web browsing and light email. These support online banking and shopping. For higher data volume users or for businesses where there are several simultaneous users we would recommend the PRO services.
Unlike the competition we will not automatically throttle your data rates if you go over your monthly limit (except for RESIDENTIAL LITE). These limits are provided on trust. If you go over your limit we will inform you of this and we will look at how much you have used over a few months. If you go over by more than 30% of your limit in one month or consistantly go over your limit, then we will contact you to discuss either altering your usage pattern or to upgrade your service. To protect others, any user that does not co-operate will have their service data rate throttled and maybe cut off. Please see our AUP.

Need a different number of GBytes per month? Add additional GBytes per month for £7.20 per GByte per month. Note maximum GBytes for RESIDENTIAL services is 20 GBytes per month and this is not available for RESIDENTIAL LITE service.
Prices include UK VAT at the current prevailing rate of 20%.
Monthly data volume provided on trust except RESIDENTIAL LITE service for which the service data speed will be limited to maximum 4Mbps down/1Mbps up after 2GBytes used in a month and then reduced to 64kbps/64kbps after 3Mbps is used in a month. The speed is reset to 8Mbps/2Mbps at the start of each calander month and usage count to zero.
Note that currently these new services are for new customers only. It is planned to introduce them to current customers later in 2012.
Note Voice over IP applications (including Skype) do generally work, however due to the nature of shared broadband links, the quality of service cannot be guaranteed at all times. In general the higher the data rate on the uplink, the higher the quality achieved. As long as enough bandwidth exists then the voice quality over the satellite will be good. We cannot guarantee quality over the path taken over the Internet nor the quality of service provided by the VoIP service provider used. Note that there is latency over the satellite and you will notice a slight delay in the voice signal.
Prime Satellite Broadband can provide you with routed Public IP Addresses on your modem for a monthly cost. This will allow you to remotely manage your router and support applications that require this to work. A subnet of 4 IP addresses (giving 1 fixed Public IP Address) costs £6+VAT per month. A Subnet of 8 IP Addresses costs £12+VAT per month. Consider setting he satellite modem as a bridge to use local router for port forwarding and remote acces functions.
